Andy Houghton

Andy Houghton.JPG

Adaptive Rowing featured only once in the 2010 World Cup Series, at Bled where Andy won silver in the ASM1x behind the World Champion and fellow GB Rowing Team Squad member Tom Aggar.  This followed the two silver medals Andy won at the Varese International Adaptive Regatta in May this year.

Andy took up rowing after attending a Paralympic Talent Day in Mile End, London, and became a member of the adaptive squad in 2009.

His first GB vest was at the 2009 Varese International Regatta where he won silver in the men's AS single scull on both days behind fellow GB rower and Paralympic Champion Tom Aggar.   He followed this by winning a silver medal at the Munich World Cup, again behind Tom Aggar

Andy has always been a keen sportsman.  He previously played rugby for Hungerford Rugby Club for a number of years and still has strong links with the club.  He also raced at Motocross from a very young age.

He currently works as a Network Planner within the telecoms industry.

Andy is Lottery Funded through UK Sport.
