Wales

The Welsh World Class Start Centre was established in July 2017, and is the only centre of its kind in Wales.

Water sessions are based at Channel View leisure centre, and rowers train on a 5km stretch of the River Taff, which runs from Bute Park to Cardiff Bay. The bay itself has room for a 1500m multi-lane course and has previously hosted the Home International Regatta.

Land training takes place at the Welsh Rowing high performance training facility which houses rowing machines, spin bikes and strength and conditioning equipment; athletes also have access to gym facilities at the Welsh Institute of Sport. Strength and conditioning sessions are supported by coaches from Cardiff Metropolitan University and physiotherapy is provided by Sport Wales.

Rowers are recruited from all over Wales, but primarily come from schools and universities in Cardiff and Swansea.

Host Club: Rhwyfo Cymru
