Description:

If you are someone who would like to grow your club by supporting the occasional session, assisting, or supporting rowers to get onto the water in a safe and fun environment, you might want to consider doing a Coaching Assistant Award.

The aim of this workshop is to equip you with the knowledge and skills to be able to support rowing sessions confidently and successfully.

You will be able to introduce and encourage all abilities into rowing in a fun, friendly and relaxed environment. The Coaching Assistant workshop will enable you to co-ordinate a fun warm up that will get everyone socialising and also how to set up support for a rowing session. The workshop will provide you with an all-round introduction to supporting activities that include Health and Safety checks, importance of welcoming participants into a fun and relaxing environment, warm up and cool down examples as well as information on British Rowing.

This is a pre-coaching award for individuals supporting activity on the water and is aimed at anyone who will be supporting a coach with the delivery of their sessions.  PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS NOT A COACHING QUALIFICATION
