The Queen’s College Boat Club – Men’s Head Coach (part-time)

Club Overview:

Founded in 1827, QCBC is one of the oldest boat clubs in the world. Recent years have been very successful for the club, during Torpids 2021 the men’s 1st VIII rose 8 places in the rankings (largest rise in the club’s history) and the 2nd VIII achieved blades in Torpids 2022. The 1st VIII is currently 16th on the river in both Torpids and Summer Eights. The club also competes annually in external regattas.

Job requirements:

  • Available to start at the beginning of Michaelmas term 2022
  • Produce land and water training plans for crews to follow
  • Train and select crews for Torpids and Summer eights
  • Attend pre-Hilary and pre-Trinity training camps
  • Accompany crews to multiple external regattas throughout the year

Criteria for applicants:

  • Experience coaching and/or rowing at a competitive level
  • Flexibility during term times
  • Good understanding of boat rigging and equipment
  • Enthusiastic but firm approach to coaching
