Lead Safeguarding Officer

📣A bit about the role

You will be a part of the Safeguarding and Integrity Team reporting to the Head of Safeguarding and Integrity and working alongside the Safeguarding and Integrity Case Officer and Safeguarding and Integrity Education Officer.

We’re a small team and so we might also ask you to do other bits from time to time.

 👋A bit about you

You will have previous experience as a Lead Safeguarding Officer.

You will be able to develop and produce a national-level implementation risk and supporting guidance and policies. You will know how to work with multiple stakeholders and deal with reports of lower-level concerns, poor practice and abuse.

You will have excellent communication skills, good self-initiative, and the ability to work with a small team.

Previous experience working in a sport sector/national governing body will be advantageous.

Our passion is rowing. We are the governing body for rowing, responsible for supporting grassroots rowing in England and getting the GB Rowing Team ready for the Olympics, Paralympics and other international competitions.

We are a membership organisation with over 33,000 individual members and we are looking to support over 550 affiliated clubs and 220 affiliated events. We cover all types of rowing whether it’s on the river, in the gym (on a rowing machine) or even on the sea and so a key aim is to use our content to help engage the wider rowing community.

We have an inspiring group of elite athletes who are all engaged and keen to get involved in promoting their sport.

🤲What we offer

You’ll be based in our head office alongside the river in Hammersmith, London but we have an Agile Working Policy so regular work from home is possible.

Salary offered will be commensurate with experience.
