Olympic bronze medallist Ollie Wynne-Griffith won silver at the 2022 European Rowing Championships in the men’s pair.
He took up rowing at Radley College in 2007 and won a bronze medal at the World Rowing Junior Championships in the men’s eight (JM8+) in 2012. Ollie was then selected for the men’s eights that finished sixth in 2014 and second in 2016 at the World Rowing U23 Championships while studying at Yale University.
After making his senior team debut in 2017 at the World Cup III regatta, Ollie was selected as a spare for the 2017 World Rowing Championships in Sarasota-Bradenton, receiving the call to stroke the men’s four in their semi-final due after Will Satch was struck by illness. The crew held their nerve to finish second in the race and went on to win bronze in the final, with Satch back in the stroke seat.
Ollie was been part of the men’s eight for the 2018 to 2021 seasons, winning bronze medals at the Tokyo Olympics and the World Rowing Championships in 2018 and 2019. At the European Championships he and his crew took silver in 2019, gold in 2021, and silver again in 2022.
