Rower - Men's Squad
Club: Leander Club
Hometown: Cambridge
Despite finding rowing relatively late (he was identified by the GB Start scheme in his last year at school) George has always had a huge passion for sports.
Long distance running in particular played a consistent role in his life from eight years old to 18 and George represented Dorset, Surrey and Kent in cross-country before finding rowing.
George was in the same school year as current international stars Zak Crawley (cricket) and Ben Earl (rugby) and hopes to make a small contribution to the sporting successes of his Tonbridge year group. George has been a consistent feature in the men’s quad so far this Olympiad, winning silver at the 2022 World Rowing Championships and qualifying the boat for the 2024 Paris Olympics at the World Rowing Championships in 2023.
