Douwe is a four time World Champion for GB and has represented the GB Rowing Team to great success at U19, U23 and senior levels.
His first international race was in 2017 where he won gold at the World Rowing Junior Championships in the Men’s Four. He retained his Championship title again in 2018.
Douwe’s international success continued into U23 level, where he took gold at the World Rowing U23 Championships in 2021 and again in 2022, in the Men’s Pair and Men’s Four respectively.
He made his senior team debut in 2021 at World Rowing Cup III where he won silver in the men’s Men’s Pair with Calvin Tarczy. He rowed again at World Rowing Cup III in 2024 where he won bronze alongside Matthew Rowe, Sam Bannister and Daniel Graham in the Men’s Four.

Douwe de Graaf won the Oxford and Cambridge Boat Race in 2025, representing Cambridge.
