British Rowing is seeking a new Chair as the current Chairman, Annamarie Phelps CBE, will be stepping down at the end of March. Phelps has come to the end of her permitted tenure as Chairman following the implementation of the UK government’s Code for Sports Governance.

The Chair of British Rowing has a highly influential role inside and outside the sport, representing and advocating the views of the organisation and its members, with overall responsibility for the strategic direction.

British Rowing is interested in candidates from a business background or those already involved in sports governance, who demonstrate excellent leadership in a complex organisation with multiple stakeholders. The appointed Chair will commence a three-year term on 1 April 2018, with the possibility of a further four-year term.
