Nominations open for Sportswomen of the Year Awards

Online nominations are open for the prestigious Sunday Times and Sky Sports Sportswomen of the Year Awards, now in their 26th year.

Celebrating the dedication of athletes, coaches, volunteers and administrators across the full spectrum of British sport, the 2013 Awards will take place at a star-studded ceremony on December 5th.

The Awards comprise seven different categories: Sportswoman of the Year, Young Sportswoman of the Year (21 or younger on 1 January 2013), Team of the Year, Disability Sports Person of the Year, Community Award, Lifetime Achievement Award, and the Helen Rollason Award for Inspiration.

Online nominations are open until midnight on November 4th, and anyone who submits a nomination will be entered into a prize draw to win two tickets to the Awards show.

“The Sunday Times Sportswomen of the Year Awards have grown in stature since the launch in 1988 and are unique in recognising the phenomenal achievements of women in sport,” said Alex Butler, Sports Editor for The Sunday Times.
