Burton Amateur Regatta cancelled

The 2012 Burton Amateur Regatta has been cancelled, after prolonged rain left the area surrounding the regatta waterlogged and inaccessible.

“Unfortunately, following a site inspection this morning, we have had to take the decision to cancel the 2012 Burton Regatta and Burton Sprint,” Entries Secretary Richard Gipson announced on the official regatta website.

“Whilst the River Trent in Burton has fallen during this week to normal levels, the prolonged rain has left the Regatta Meadows completely waterlogged with large areas of standing water.

“Any entry fee payments received will be refunded. Thank you for your entries and for your support.”
