GBR Rowing Team arrives in Moscow for 2011 EURC

The GBR Rowing Team has arrived in Moscow, Russia, ahead of the seventh annual European Universities Rowing Championship.

The British squad – drawn from 10 universities – arrived at the Krylatskoe Canoeing and Rowing Course in Moscow on Monday, with racing scheduled to start today (August 31).

The crews were selected to represent the UK based on results from British Universities & Colleges Sport Rowing Championship events in 2010/2011, and the 68 athletes will be hoping to retain their EUSA Salver – awarded to the overall winner of the Championships – from last year.

This year’s EURC has attracted 137 crews from 14 different countries, and will be the first to feature a Russian crew, as well as being the first edition of the tournament to be staged in Russia.
