Final call for 2011 Volunteer Awards nominations

Volunteer umpire

Time is running out to submit your nominations for British Rowing’s 2011 Volunteer Awards!

Nominations for the Club and Event Volunteer and 2011 Coach of the Year awards close today (August 31), so if you’ve yet to have your say and nominate the volunteers keeping your club afloat – now is the time.

Ever wondered who ensures there is enough tea in the pot for your post-training brew? Is there someone you know who relentlessly tidies the boathouse without a single grumble? Or a coach who really makes a difference to your club?

As we all know, volunteers are the life-blood of rowing in the UK, and what better way to recognise their tireless commitment to our sport than by nominating them for a British Rowing award.

These awards recognise the ‘unsung heroes’ of our clubs, who give so much of their time and effort to rowing throughout England. From our coaches, umpires and race officials, our diligent safety and welfare officers, to our unflagging fund-raisers and committee members.

The awards ceremony will take place at a lunch on November 19th, at the Watermen’s Hall, London.

To find out more about the different award categories, and to nominate a volunteer, see the 2011 Volunteer Awards page.
