Curlew Rowing Club

Greenwich-based Curlew Rowing Club has announced a meeting for new and old squad members ahead of the 2011/12 season.

The club is looking to build on a successful 2010/11 season, which culminated in qualifying two VIIIs for the Thames Challenge Cup at Henley Royal Regatta – a first for London rowing clubs east of Tower Bridge.

Director of Rowing Ray Cassidy has, therefore, announced a general squad meeting to take place on the 7th September at 7.30pm at the Clubhouse in Greenwich.

The invitation is extended to anyone who has rowed before who is looking at getting back into the squad, newcomers to the sport, and anyone with an interest in Rowing.

‘Curlew rowing Club is looking at building on a highly motivated and successful 2010/11 squad to cement its position as one of London’s leading rowing clubs,’ the club said in a statement.

‘We are a friendly and welcoming club who have successful competed at all major regattas and have successfully qualified 11years out of 12 years to Henley Royal Regatta.’
