Gig Rowing World Championships

The 20th Annual World Pilot Gig Championships take place this weekend, 1st to 3rd May, on the Isles of Scilly.

This is the biggest event of the year for the sport of pilot gig racing and this year is set to be the largest with over 110 boats entered.

Last year’s winners, Mounts Bay and Falmouth, will be looking to defend their titles in the Men’s and Ladies sections, as will Caradon in the Men’s Veteran category and Falmouth in the Ladies Veteran event.

The Veteran racing takes place on Friday 1st May with the main racing on the 2nd and 3rd May and finals on the Sunday afternoon.
