Henley Women’s Regatta to introduce new categories for 2009

More crews than ever before will be able to compete at this summer’s Henley Women’s Regatta after it was announced that new categories will be introduced to the racing schedule.

The Intermediate Eights and Fours events will be split into club and academic categories in response to a high numbers of requests. It has also been decided that with the new points system being introduced by the ARA in 2009, there will be an increase in the points limit for each event. This will be reviewed again for 2010 as the effects of the new system are monitored.

WJ16 quads and coxed fours races will also be introduced as trial events for 2009.

The new rules and regulations, together with new points limits for events will be posted early in the new year. Visit the Henley Women’s Regatta website for further information.
