Club Links

The British Rowing scheme to link schools with clubs is known as Project Oarsome. More than £3 million of rowing equipment has been provided to the Clubmark-accredited clubs that have linked with at least two state secondary schools.

In the winter coaches deliver health and fitness activity in schools based around the use of indoor rowing machines.

During the summer, young people are invited to rowing clubs to experience water based activity in a friendly and safe environment.

At the end of the summer young people are invited to join the club. This scheme has proved to be very successful since it was launched by Sir Steve Redgrave in 2000.

An evaluation of the scheme can be found here.
