Club Links

The British Rowing scheme to link schools with clubs was known as Project Oarsome. More than £3 million of rowing equipment was provided to Clubmark-accredited clubs, which were linked with at least two state secondary schools.

In the winter, coaches delivered health and fitness activity in schools based around the use of indoor rowing machines.

During the summer, young people were invited to rowing clubs to experience water-based activities in a friendly and safe environment.

At the end of the summer, young people were invited to join the club.

An evaluation of the scheme can be found here.
