Rower Adam Janes Makes Waves in his GSCE Results

Adam Janes (16) who is making waves in the rowing world has clocked up 9 A*s (A*s in English Language, Maths, Religious Studies, Science, Additional Science, History, Geography and Spanish) and 1 A in English Literature in his GCSEs at St Peter's School York.

Yorkshire Universities Indoor Rowing Championships

The 2nd annual Yorkshire Universities Indoor Rowing Championships were held on Sunday 7th March at Doncaster Rowing Club. The event was run by British Rowing staff with the help of volunteers from the club. This year’s event saw a boost in interest with an increase in students and universities participating compared to last year’s successful event.

Yorkshire Universities Indoor Rowing Event

The second Yorkshire universities indoor rowing event will be held on Sunday 7 March 2010. The second such event will again be hosted by Doncaster Rowing Club on behalf of the Yorkshire Rowing Council.

Royal Approval

British Rowing are proud to announce that Dudley Fletcher (from Doncaster Rowing Club) has been presented with an MBE by Princess Anne.

Dudley, aged 68, was awarded the MBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours List at the end of 2009 for his dedication to the development of rowing in Doncaster.

New equipment for Bradford ARC

Bradford Amateur Rowing Club has become the first rowing club in England to benefit from Sport England’s new Small Grants funding programme launched in April 2009. Bradford ARC will receive a grant of £8,634 to purchase its first coxless quad sculling boat complete with 4 pairs of sculls.

Following the success of Project Oarsome at Bradford junior membership has grown year on year. This is has been thanks to the hours put in by its dedicated junior coaching team, led by Hugh Scott.

Celebrating the power of sport
