Explore Rowing

British Rowing launched ‘Explore Rowing’ in May 2010, aiming to have 10,000 more people rowing once a week by 2013.
Explore Rowing clubs are making new links with their local communities, rowers are finding fun and more flexible ways to enjoy rowing. Find out how your club can join the initiative.
It isn’t just about welcoming new rowers, it’s about providing our existing rowers with a whole range of activities so that they can keep rowing our rivers, lakes, shores, canals and even try their hand at the more extreme surf rowing and ocean crossings.
Rowing is for all ages and ability – explore the possibilities at www.explorerowing.org.
Funding Packages
Funding Packages are available to clubs to purchase stable boats and put in place a suitable programme of activity to help bring in new beginners and also sustain existing rowers with new challenges.
The funding packages are made up of £25k of boats (£12.5k from British Rowing and £12.5k matched funding), £3,500 towards getting the programme going and £500 to train two new UKCC Level 2 coaches for the club. Don't worry if you don't have the matched funding in place already, get in touch and we can help you raise it.
