10:37In the last 500m there's some tired crews out there. The Chinese really lose their technique in last 500m but hold on to win in 7:23.71. Germany take the last semi-final spot. |

10:35China seem to have this in the bag. Germany in second with a length over the USA but it looks like the US are really pushing Germany now. |

10:33China now lead ahead of Germany by just under a length. USA about a length and a half down on Germany. |

10:15Blistering finish from USA who win in 5:38.95, Australia take second. Netherlands finish third and Poland finish fourth with China just missing out on a qualifying spot by 0.05 seconds. What a race! |

10:14So close in this race - Australia now lead 2ft ahead of US, Netherlands currently in third and Germany now down in fourth. Poland and China still really close though. |

10:13At 1000m USA still lead just ahead of Australia who are very close to Germany and Netherlands.All very close. |

10:11Through the first 500m and it's USA just ahead of Germant with Australia in third. Netherlands currently occupying the last qualifying spot. It's all really close. |

10:07So now onto the repechage of the men's eight - 6 crews with four to progress to the final. Australia looking for a bit of better luck after their steering failure yesterday.

10:06Great race from Cuba there - Estonia win in 6:01.46 but Cuba finish just with overlap with Cuba. Czechs take the third semi-final spot. Amazing push from Cuba they looked well out of it after the first 500m but really pulled it back. |

10:05Estonia now leading ahaead of the Czech Republic but Cuba are really pushing through and lead ahead of Slovenia. |

10:00Men's quad time - three to the semi-final from four boats.

9:56Germany win (6:36.17) with just over a length and then USA come in second. Ukraine and Australia in a photo finish for third but Australia just pip it. Canada comes through in fifth just missing out on a spot in the final. |

9:55Germany still lead but not looking 100% comfortable. United States in second and Australia and Ukraine really close behind. Canada about two seconds behind the top four. |

9:50Onto the women's quad - four of these boats will progress to the final. GB already through along with China. Katherine Boron going for a fifth Olympic gold medal in the German boat.

9:46Strong finish by Ireland winning by over a length in 6:21.79. Netherlands come through ahead of USA. Egypt finish in fourth. |

9:44Good push from Ireland in the third 500m and they come through now in 1st place. Ireland have about a length over both Netherlands and USA. |

9:42As we come through 1000m, Netherlands are leading about half a length up on Ireland who are half length up on the USA. Egypt dropping off at the back of the field. |

9:41Netherlands lead from Ireland by about 3/4 length. Egypt currently sat in third, half a length behind Ireland. USA currently sat in fourth. |

9:38So onto the repechage of the men's lightweight four. Again GB are already through but Ireland will be hoping to pick up a semi-final spot. Three through so let's hope them don't come last.

9:36Hungary have completely blown and Portugal have charged through to win ahead of Cuba in 6:39.02. Japan come through in third and then Hungary who lost it completely in the last 500m. The former world champions Hungary will be really dissapointed in that. |

9:34Hungary still lead by a few feet over Japan, Cuba still close to Japan but now also being pushed by Portugal. |

9:26Great last 500m and Germany really charged through for the line and take the win in 6:41.42 - Australia take the second semi-final spot. Uruguay third, Brazil fourth, Hong Kong fifth and Algeria and sixth. |

9:25Germany challenging Australia at the front of the pack and now lead by a couple of feet. Uruguay have pushed past Brazil again. |

9:23Australia still had the lead by about half a length from Germany. Germany have a length over Brazil in lane 1 who have overtaken Uruguay. |

9:17GB just hold of a last minute push from Greece winning in a time of 7:24.23 by about a foot. Cuba take the last qualifying spot. |
