GB wins Coupe de la Jeunesse
The GB Rowing Team collected the overall Coupe de la Jeunesse trophy in Vichy, France, over the weekend.
The boys' squad picked up seven victories from 12 encounters over the two days of racing whilst the GB girls were undefeated in all eleven of their contests in this European event for juniors which is just below the World Junior Championship level.
Those results put GB at the head of both the girls' and boys' points table with an overall total of 132 for the girls and 142 for the boys. In the girls' competition, the Netherlands were second and France third. Italy were second in the boys' points table with France third and Spain fourth.
Overall, France were second behind Great Britain with Italy third. The result fulfilled team manager Richard Follett's confidence in his young line-ups. Before the event he described the mood in the camp as "quietly optimistic and confident".

GB Girls' Victories (by event):
The GB Rowing Team's girls' squad won twice in each of the single, double and quadruple scull as well as the pair and four. The GB women's eight were winners in their lone race, contested on Friday.
GB Boys' Victories (by event):
The GB Rowing Team's men's squad won on Friday in the eight and quadruple scull as well as on Saturday in the men's pair, four, coxed four, eight, single scull and quadruple scull.
