Entries for the 2013 National Junior Indoor Rowing Championships (NJIRC) are now open!
The seventh annual NJIRC is set to be the biggest yet, with more than 2000 competitors are expected to compete using 80 indoor rowing machines.
Held at the Lee Valley Athletics Centre on 15th March 2013, the event will consist of individual and team races for indoor rowers aged 11 to 18.
Entries are now open via a new online booking system, which can be accessed at http://londonyouthrowing.websiteelements.co.uk/.
In the seven years since it started, NJIRC has become one of the world’s largest indoor rowing competitions. Over 9000 schoolchildren have taken part in the event since its inception, from more than 120 different UK schools and organisations.
The 2013 NJIRC will feature athletes from the Oxford and Cambridge University Boat Race, and teams of indoor rowers will be able to compete in a special 8-person relay race covering 6780m – the length of the famous Boat Race course.
With four giant screens for spectators to watch the action, as well as giant Wii games, electronic graffiti walls, BMX bikes, parkour, tag rugby, skateboarding and brush board surfing, the 2013 NJIRC promises to be a spectacular celebration of indoor rowing for young people.
