Link to Lancaster Canal

Registrations are filling up fast for the 18th British Rowing Tour on Lancaster Canal, 1– 4 September 2011. Entries have already reached two thirds capacity and event organisers are encouraging interested participants to sign up quickly to secure a place.

This year’s tour is organised by Weyfarers in association with Lancaster John O’Gaunt Rowing Club. Lancaster Canal is one of the most scenic canals  in the country. This
gentle waterway offers wonderful views of the Silverdale coast, Forest
of Bowland and rolling countryside of Wyre. It was nicknamed ‘the Black
and White Canal’ as it originally carried coal from the south and
limestone from the north. The Canal stretches over 41 miles from Preston
to Tewitfield on one level, England’s longest stretch of canal with no
locks.

The registration form and an enclosed cheque for £50 per person is payable to Recreational Rowing WP by 30th June 2011. The balance must be paid by 31st July.
