William Laughton
Will started rowing in 2001, following his older brother George into the sport.
He was selected in the men's four for the 2009 World U23 Championships, finishing 11th.
He won his first GB vest in 2007, finishing 6th in the eight at the World U23 Championships in Strathclyde. He finished in the same position at the 2008 World U23s in Brandenburg, this time in the four. He has represented GB at junior level too, finishing 5th in the quad sculls event at the 2005 World Junior Championships.
In 2006 Will won the Prince Albert Challenge Cup, the student coxed fours event at Henley Royal Regatta with Imperial College.
He has won silver medals in the double sculls event at BUSA for two successive years, in 2006 and 2007. He raced in the second men's four at the 2008 World Cup in Lucerne.
Will's hobbies include playing poker and squash. He has also done clay pigeon shooting and at one point considered trialling for his county in the sport. A talented saxophonist, Will was a member of his school big band.
He has completed a Materials Science degree at Imperial College.
