Ruth Walczak
Ruth raced in the women's quadruple scull at the 2010 World Rowing U23 Championships in Brest, Belarus finishing 8th. She raced in the women's four at last year's World U23 Championships, where she finished 5th.
She started rowing through British Rowing's Project Oarsome scheme at Hollingworth Lake Rowing Club.
Ruth has represented Great Britain twice as a Junior at the Coupe de la Jeunesse. In 2005 she won gold in the women's single scull and in 2006 she took gold in the women's double scull.
In 2007 she represented GB at the World U23s in the single where she finished 5th and in 2008 she finished 4th in the women's double scull.
She has also achieved domestic success as a junior, she is a 3 time gold medallist at the National Schools Regatta, winning the junior women's single scull event on 2 occasions, in 2005 and 2007. In 2006 Ruth took gold in the junior women's double scull.
She has also won a gold medal at the 2007 Huegal International Regatta in Essen, Germany in the U23 single scull event.
Ruth is currently studying Product Design at Central St Martin's College of Art & Design.
