Rachael Jefferies
Rachael was selected in the women's eight for the 2009 World U23 Championships, where she won a gold medal.
She won bronze in the four at the 2008 and 2007 World U23 Championships, adding to the bronze medal she won in 2006 at the World Junior Rowing Championships in the eight.
She also competed at the 2007 Youth Olympic Festival in Australia, where she won 2 gold medals in the quadruple scull and in the eight.
In 2006 she competed in the Commonwealth Regatta in Strathclyde in the pair for England, in which she won bronze. She has competed at the Coupe de la Jeunesse on three occasions; in 2004 she won silver in a pair, in 2003 she finished 6th in the single scull event and in 2002 she won a bronze in the quadruple scull.
Rachael learnt to row at Headington School Boat Club from the age of 11. She decided to try it initally because she liked the look of rowing.
She has completed a Natural Sciences degree at Cambridge University, which she hopes will lead her into a career in sports physiology.
