Nick Fearnhead
Nick started rowing at school at the age of 13.
Nick is no stranger to representing GB, in 2008 he raced in the men's lightweight quadruple scull at the World U23 Championships finishing 4th. He also raced at the World Junior Championships in 2005 and 2006 and was selected for the GB squad for the 2007 Youth Olympics Festival in Sydney, Australia, where he won 2 silver medals in the lightweight double and the eight. Injury has prevented him gaining U23 selection in 2009.
In 2007 he won gold in the lightweight single scull at the 2007 National Championships and represented Wales at the 2007 Home Countries Regatta where he won a silver medal in the same event. Nick has also won a gold medal at the Munich Junior International Regatta in the coxed four in 2005, and was a finalist in the Princess Elizabeth Cup (the school eight event) at Henley Royal Regatta in 2006.
Nick has a background in sport, having played cricket and hockey at school, and in music, as he plays both the saxophone and the clarinet to a high standard.
For the last 3 years Nick has been involved in working in Christian summer camps for children and is involved with his local church.
He is currently studying Engineering at Durham University and would like to pursue a career in civil engineering when he stops rowing.
