Leonora Kennedy

Leonora was selected in the women’s eight for the 2009 World U23 Championships, where she won a gold medal.

Leonora first started rowing whilst at school because her father ran the local boat club. She comes from a rowing family as her parents and her brothers all row. Her father competed at the 1976 and 1980 Olympics for Ireland.

Leonora originally went to Oxford Brookes University to study Physiotherapy but in September 2006 she decided to move to Kingston University so that she could study for a BSc in Human Biology and Sports Science.

She now rows at Thames Rowing Club and her aim is to row at the 2012 Olympic Games.

She plays the cello and piano to Grade 7.
