Kieren Emery
In his first season as a lightweight, Kieren won a silver medal in the lightweight men's double scull at the 2010 World Rowing U23 Championships in Brest, Belarus with Ben Rowe. This was a very creditable performance, wining their heat and sem-final, and in the final moving out with Greece, well ahead of the rest of the field. In the second half GB pressed Greece bt had to settle for silver by just under a length.
In 2009, Kieren competed as an openweight and raced in the men's eight at the World U23 Championships in Racice where he won a bronze medal.
He learnt to row at Tyne Rowing Club and has been mentored by Wade Hall-Craggs, the Durham University Coach.
Kieran has represented GB twice at World Junior level, in 2007 in Beijing he won gold in the men's four and the following year finished 5th in the same boat class.
While rowing he has committed himself to become qualified as a rowing coach and wishes to follow this as a career.
Kieren is Lottery Funded through UK Sport.
