Katie Solesbury (née Greves)
In 2009 Katie concentrated on crew sculling after gaining a place in the women's quad for the World Cup series and the World Championships in Poznan. The quad won gold in Banyoles and silver in Munich, finishing 5th in Lucerne. These were creditable results for a new crew. She also doubled up into the women's double scull in Banyoles, placing 5th. At the Worlds the quad were 5th.
In the 2008 World Cup series Katie raced in the eight and was selected in that boat class for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, finishing 5th.
She represented GB in the women's eight at the 3 preceding World Championships winning bronze in 2007, finishing 8th in 2006 and 5th in 2005.
Katie has represented GB at junior, U23 and senior level in both sculling and sweep events.
Katie learnt to row at Headington School. She won bronze in the women's four at the World Junior Championships in 1999 and represented GB 3 times at U23 level, winning bronze in the pair in 2003, finishing 4th in the four in 2001 and 7th in the single in 2004.
She was vice–captain of University of London Boat Club from 2003–4 and graduated in English Literature in 2004. She is recently married to GB Rower, Tom Solesbury.
