James Orme

James is selected in the men's eight for the 2009 World Championships in Poznan.
He learnt to row at Cambridge University in 2002, having started rowing for his college. He quickly progressed to trialling for the University and rowed for Goldie in his second year. He was also selected to represent the GB Team at the World U23 Championships in 2004 where he came 6th in the men's four. He established his place in the men's eight during the 2009 World Cup series, winning bronze in Banyoles and Munich.
In his third year, 2005, James rowed again for Goldie, winning the race and later the Ladies Plate at Henley. He also competed again for the GB Team at the World U23 Championships in the four where he came 6th again and was part of the spare pair for the World Championships.
In 2006 James won the Visitors Cup at Henley, he was selected for the World U23 Championships, finishing 9th in the four and again was part of the spare pair for the World Championships.
The following season, James made the step up to the senior squad finishing 4th at final trials in Hazewinkel. He was selected for one of the GB eights at the 2007 Amsterdam World Cup which won gold and went on to gain selection in the coxed four at the World Championships in Munich where he finished 4th.
