Jacqui Round
Jacqui was selected as the women's spare for the 2009 World Championships in Poznan following her gold medal in the women's eight at the 2009 World U23 Championships.
Jacqui started rowing at the age of ten at St Neots Rowing Club under the guidance of Martyn Rooney, because she lived very close to the river and thought she would try it. Between 2001 and 2005 she won eleven gold and silver medals at the National Schools Regatta and the National Championships and won the junior quad event at Women's Henley Regatta.
At the World Junior Championships in 2005 she won a bronze medal in the quad. In 2006 she raced in the pair at the World U23 Championships finishing 7th. In 2007 she was selected for the GB squad that raced at the Youth Olympic Festival in Sydney, Australia, where she won two gold medals in the four and the eight.
In 2008 she won a bronze medal in the women's four at the World U23 Championships.
Jacqui studied Sport Development and Fitness at South Nottingham College and plans to begin a course in Paramedic Sciences in London soon.
