Ian Lawson

Ian started rowing at Durham University where he was part of their freshman system. Previous to this he had been a county cross country runner and county champion over 400m.

He then joined Durham ARC where he started to scull and within 18 months was training with the National Squad culminating in a bronze medal at the World University Championships in 2000 in the double sculls.

Ian has twice been a World Championship finalist in the double sculls and represented Team GB in the 2004 Athens Olympics in the single scull. During his career he has held the British records in the single, double and quadruple sculls and been a World Cup medallist.

Ian currenlty combines his rowing with coaching at Eton where he is the second VIII coach.
