She won a silver medal in the lightweight women's quad at the 2009 World Championships in Poznan, the crew having put in a spirited performance to take second behind a strong German crew with USA third. Earlier in the season she raced in the lightweight women's double scull at the first 2 World Cups, taking 4th in Poznan and 6th in Munich, before moving to the lightweight quad.
A former county track athlete, Andrea started rowing at the age of 20 at Falcon Rowing Club in Oxford, when home from University for the summer. She gained her first senior team vest in the lightweight single in 2007, creditably making the A final and finishing 5th. She also raced in the lightweight single at the 2008 World Cup in Munich winning a silver medal and later in the year raced at the World Cup in Poznan where she won a gold medal in the lightweight quadruple scull. She followed this with a 4th place at the 2008 World Championships in Linz in the lightweight women's quad.
Andrea is completing her PhD at Oxford Brookes University and when not rowing really enjoys running and surfing.
