Alan Sherman
Alan was selected in the LTA coxed four for the Paralympic Games and won a bronze medal.
An extremely experienced cox, Alan has coxed national squad crews over many years. He steered the LTA coxed four to a silver medal at the 2007 World Championships in Munich.
Alan took up coxing at school and continued with the sport while at university. He won his first GB vest in 1974 when he coxed the GB lightweight eight to a bronze medal at the World Championships.
His brother represented Great Britain in the 1971 World Championships in the men's coxed pair event.
Domestically Alan has also been very successful, winning events at Henley Royal Regatta on several occasions including two victories in the Grand Challenge Cup for elite eights.
He still coxes for his club, Thames Tradesmen, at all possible opportunities.
Alan is a consultant computer programmer.
