World Cups

The World Rowing Cup series of international regattas runs between March and July each year with coverage and highlights on BBC TV of the GB performances

There are usually three regattas. The first two are in different venues each year, with the third usually at Lucerne in Switzerland.

Points are awarded to each competing nation for finishes in Olympic-class, Paralympic-class and International-class events with the overall winner of the World Cup holding the most points after the three regattas each year and the “leading nation” after each World Rowing Cup regatta wearing special yellow bibs on the medal podium and coloured undershirts when racing at the next event.

The GB Rowing Team doesn’t always compete at all World Rowing Cups each year.
