Rachel Gamble-Flint

At the World Rowing U23 Championships in Amsterdam, Rachel raced in the women's double scull with Sarah Cowburn. The crew finished 4th overall.

Rachel raced in the women's quadruple scull for the 2010 World Rowing U23 Championships in Brest, Belarus and finished 8th.

Rachel started rowing when she  joined Yarm School at 14.  She was encouraged to give it a try due to being tall and having a swimming and water polo background.  She first represented GB in 2007 when she won gold in the junior women's double scull at the GB v France J16 Match.  The following year she was 5th in the junior women's double scull at the World Rowing Junior Championships.  Rachel was again selected for the World Junior Championships in 2009 but unfortunately had to withdraw through injury.  Earlier in 2009 Rachel competed at the Australian Youth Olympic Festival, where she won gold in the women's quad and bronze in the single.

In 2010, Rachel won gold in the championship girls' singles at the National Schools Regatta.

Rachel has just finished her A-levels and is now taking a gap year before going to University.  When she's not rowing she enjoys spending time with her friends, reading, baking and watching films.
