Karl Hudspith

Karl raced in the men's eight at the 2010 World Rowing U23 Championships in Brest, Belarus winning a bronze medal.  He then raced again in the eight at the FISU World University Rowing Championships in Hungary, this time winning gold in a boat that took the lead from the start and continued to extend that lead, finishing a length ahead of Estonia, with Ireland in third place.

He raced in the men’s coxed four at the 2009 World U23 Championships, finishing 9th.  He has represented Great Britain at both junior and U23 level.

Karl finished 5th in the men’s eight at the World U23 Championships in 2008 and 4th in the men’s eight at the World Junior Championships in 2006.

He enjoys many sports and he played hockey, basketball and tennis before he took up rowing.  Karl took up rowing whilst at school because he did not enjoy football.

Having graduated from Oxford Brookes University, Karl is now studying for an MSc (Res) in Clinical Medicine at Oxford University.

Karl was in the victorious Dark Blue Boat for the 2011 Boat Race and is OUBC President for 2011/12.
