Ben Rowe

Ben raced in the lightweight men's double scull at the 2010 World Rowing U23 Championships in Brest, Belarus where he won a silver medal.  He then moved to the lightweight men's single for the FISU World University Championships in Hungary where he again took silver.  Earlier in the season he had competed in the first World Cup of the 2010 Series in Bled, taking 12th place in the lightweight men's double.

Ben learnt to row at Yarm School in Teesside.  In 2005 he won a gold in the double in the GB U16 team in the GB v France Match.  

In March 2009 Ben joined the GB Rowing Team's Start Programme, sponsored by Siemens.  He finished as top under 23 and 4th overall in the lightweight single in the 2009 GB Rowing Senior Trials and was selected to represent GB in the lightweight double at the 2009 World U23 Championships in Racice, where he finished 9th.

He is currently studying Sports Therapy at the University of Teesside and rows for Tees Rowing Club.  In his spare time he also enjoys cycling, reading and driving his classic mini.
