At the 2011 European Rowing Championships in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, Andrea raced in the lightweight women's double scull with crewmate Kathryn Twyman. The duo won a silver medal, with Greece taking the gold.
Andrea won gold at the 2011 World Rowing Championships in Bled racing in the lightweight women's quad with crewmates Stephanie Cullen, Imogen Walsh and Kathryn Twyman.
In Munich at the first World Cup of 2011 Andrea competed in the lightweight women's double scull, taking silver in the GB2 boat with Kathryn Twyman and giving Hester Goodsell and Sophie Hosking in the gold medal winning GB1 boat a very good run for their money. 3rd place went to the USA.
At the 2011 GB Rowing Team Senior Trials held on 16-17 April at Eton/Dorney, Andrea took 3rd place in the lightweight women's single scull.
At the 2010 World Rowing Championships on New Zealand's Lake Karapiro, Andrea was 4th in the final of the lightweight women's quadruple scull with crewmates Jane Hall, Stephanie Cullen and Laura Greenhalgh.
She competed in the lightweight women's double scull at the 2010 World University Rowing Championships, taking the silver medal in a very close race where she and Laura Greenhalgh finished just a second behind the Polish winners.
For the 2010 World Cup Series Andrea raced in the lightweight women's double scull at Bled and Munich, taking 5th and 4th places respectively. In Lucerne she switched to the lightweight women's single and came 4th.
In April 2010 Andrea triumphed at the GB Rowing Team Senior Trials in Hazewinkel by winning the lightweight women's single scull title in a time of 8:26.97.
A former county track athlete, Andrea started rowing at the age of 20 at Falcon Rowing Club in Oxford, when home from University for the summer. After a brief stint at novice rowing in her final year at the University of Leeds, she found renewed interest in the sport when returning to Oxford after graduating, and joined the City of Oxford Rowing Club.
She gained her first senior team vest in the lightweight single in 2007, creditably making the A final and finishing 5th. She also raced in the lightweight single at the 2008 World Cup in Munich winning a silver medal. She followed this with a 4th place at the 2008 World Championships in Linz in the lightweight women's quad.
Andrea won a silver medal in the lightweight women's quad at the 2009 World Championships in Poznan, the crew having put in a spirited performance to take second behind a strong German crew with USA third. Earlier in the season she raced in the lightweight women's double scull at the first 2 World Cups, taking 4th in Poznan and 6th in Munich, before moving to the lightweight quad.
Andrea works as a post-doctoral research assistant at the University of Oxford and when not rowing really enjoys running and surfing.
