Affiliation

Affiliating to British Rowing as a club offers many benefits including support from our professional staff and volunteers, access to British Rowing resources and schemes such as Explore Rowing and ability to enter British Rowing competitions.

Affiliated clubs pay a fee based on their membership and are required to follow British Rowing guidance and rules relating to good practice, safety and welfare. Each clubs is required to submit a membership declaration detailing their membership, which is used to establish an annual affiliation fee.

British Rowing provides regular mailings and Club Stream newsletters to all clubs throughout year, with policy updates and other information about activities.  Support is available for all our clubs on matters regarding management, insurance, facilities, funding, safety and child protection.

If you would like to find out more about affiliating to British Rowing as a club please contact our clubs administrator at British Rowing Headquarters or your local Participation Development Team Leader.

Clubs who do not carry out required safety procedures and/or do not submit their annual affiliation fee by the required dates will be suspended from racing initially and then, in line with British Rowing rules, disaffiliated.

A condition of entry to Henley Royal Regatta is that English clubs must have been affiliated to British Rowing for at least twelve months prior to the Regatta.
